November Badge - Bears

As we roll into November, our minds start to wander towards all the wonderful holidays coming up. For me, I'm always reminded of wonderful memories with my family during the holiday season. This is one of the main reasons I chose to study the Bear badge this month. As a class, we will learn all about God's Family and how we can be a part of it. By the end of this month, I pray that all my girls realize how much they love their families and in turn, understand how much their family and God loves them!

Bears: God’s Family
Memory Verse: “The Lord has chosen you”
(2 Chronicles 29:11)
Central Truth: I’m part of God’s family.
Clubroom Discoveries:
Lesson 1: What is a family?
Lesson 2: What is God’s family?
Lesson 3: How can I become a part of God’s family?
Lesson 4: How can I tell others about God’s family?

No Class for the Next Two Weeks

We won't be having Rainbows class for the next two weeks. Next week, October 22nd, is Girls Night In. All ladies, including teachers, come together for fun & fellowship with all the other ladies of Calvary.

Wednesday, October 29th is Calvary's Fall Festival. It will be held in the Education building (where all our classrooms are). Discovery City (Sunday Morning Ministry) will be organizing events downstairs. These activities will be aimed more at the younger children.

Royal Rangers and Impact Girls (Wednesday Night Ministries) will be in charge of the events upstairs. My younger girls are welcome to play games upstairs as well. These activities usually require some skill. They do ask that all children be accompanied by an adult at all times.

There will also be a Biblical Costume contest and food prepared by Calvary's Spanish Speaking Ministry. YUMMY!

October Badge - Beavers

WOW! It's fall already! The girls and I are enjoying the cool weather. We have had the opportunity to play outside for a while on Wednesday nights. With the days getting shorter, I'm afraid that luxury won't last long. But not to fear! We have lots of indoor games and crafts still to come.

This month we will start our Beavers Badge. Below is the overview of this badge.

Beavers: The Church

Memory Verse: This is the house of the Lord God” (1 Chronicles 22:1, KJV)
Central Truth: The church is God’s house.
Clubroom Discoveries:
1. What is God’s house?
2. Why do I go to church?
3. How should I act in church?
4. How can I help build God’s church?

I pray that this month's lesson will be something each girl holds in their hearts forever! See you in Rainbows!!

Welcome to Rainbows!

Hi Girls & Parents,
I am looking forward to a super year of Rainbows with each and every one of you. This is my second year teaching Rainbows at Calvary Assembly. This means I hope to be more organized than I have been the past year!! I have also learned what works and what doesn't work with children of this age. I am not a teacher by profession - but when offered the position to teach Rainbows - my heart and spirit leapt within me! I truly believe God does not place a desire within you without equipping you for the job. He and I are a team in this. I, being the imperfect one on the team, sometimes drop the ball. If I ever forget to send papers home with your daughter or if you have questions about class, please please please call or email.

This website/blog idea is new. I hope to keep the lines of communication open with it. I want your daughter to learn all she can about God's word and His ways this year. I have great expectations for documenting our year together on this site. I hope you will find the time to sit with your child and read the special notes I plan to post. I feel this will encourage them on so many levels.
In the event your daughter misses a week, any information you need will be posted here. If you are like me, so many papers are sent home with my child that I tend to lose track of them. So far, the internet has yet to be lost at my house!!

I look forward to seeing you next week!
Love,
Mrs. Angela
